LM2743 - Changing hi-side and low-side FETs by editing properties in WeBench

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM2743

I tried setting the Hi-side FET and low-side FET to be FDMC7572S  into the LM2743 circuit (“custom FET” in edit mode) by entering properties of the FET into the WeBench.  Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but I could not find a way to simulate the circuit with the custom FETs (i.e. determining Op Vals).  Should I be able to generate the Op Vals after I change the FETs?  If so, can you tell me how?

  • Hi W.

I could not find a way to edit the FET parameters for a custom FET as you described. If you found a way, can you post the screenshots of your procedure?

Alternately, you can try to find similar FETs in the alternate components list to see what opvals they produce.

  • I found that you are able to change the FET parameters by using the Schematic Editor.  However, the operating values calculations are not supported in this view.  This is because one could make changes to the circuit topology so the efficiency may no longer be valid.

  • There is not a way to customize FET selection. You can select a different FET from the list that has a similar characteristics and use that in the simulation.  What is the goal of the simulation, to determine what the efficiency will be with the FDMC FET?

  • Overall, I want to make sure all the op vals are correct using all the components in my circit.  I can use a different FET with simliar parameters I guess.  Thanks!
