How do I install the TINA-TI software? I downloaded the file named sloc241c (86061kB with no extension). Now what? The "Getting Started with TINA-TI" document doesn't address this. It just assumes that after you download the file that it is installed.

I am using Windows 7 64-bit. I've installed a lot of software and never had this problem before.

    Hi Gary,

    The file you downloaded should be a zip file. You can add the .zip extension and unpack it to see the installer.

    I'll check why the extension is removed during the download process.

    Thanks. After I added .zip to the file name I was able to extract the file and get it to install.

    Thanks for the confirmation. At this moment, we've narrowed it down to Firefox. Both IE and chrome work as expected. We will look at this further.

    Hi,

        I downloaded TINA-TI from TI website. I too faced the same problem. I used a new browser known as Maxthon.

        Though I do not know the details of your download scripts, it appears from the solution description that anyone using non-IE browser may get in to this issue.

        Does the download scripts check for specific browsers and suppress the extension in case the browser is not from the specific browser list?

    We are still looking at this. Correction from what I said previously, the problem is not browser-specific. There seems to be other factors. Although I was only able to reproduce the problem with FireFox on my computer, there have been reports where this happens with either IE or Chrome.

    Meanwhile, we advise users manually append the file extension if the downloaded file does not have one.

    FYI: I've had similar issues downloading with Chrome and IE.

    Chrome results in the following message "Request Entity Too Large".

    IE downloads the file with no extension.
