TPS54160 Design Problem.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS54160

Hi everybody,

I designed circuit from "TPS54160" IC's when i take the samples. I used "SwitchPro Designer" my design specifications are input voltage min:45V-max60V and output voltage 12V-1A. This designs circiut is below.

Although i designed this circuit on protoboard as above circuit, this circuit didn't run. My output voltage must be 12V but my input voltage and output voltage is same. Before this circuit design i created circuit from TPS54160 datasheet on 40. page. But output voltage didn't increase more than 3V that examine.

Thanks everybody for helps.

  • Hi Ahmet,

Sorry for the late reply. Did you resolve your problem with the TPS54160? Your post does not contain a picture of your design circuit. So, I don't know exactly what you are trying to build. I re-ran your specs in SwitcherPro and I got the following circuit:

Is this what you have too? This circuit looks fine. If your VOUT is exactly the same as your VIN, then you probably have a hook-up error. Generally speaking, if VOUT=VIN, the controller/converter is not doing anything, either because it hooked up wrong or damaged.

    Hope this helps,

    Michael
