TPS55340 / IC Tj limit

Hi Everyone,

I tried to simulate with following setting but the error was occurred.

  • Vin = 2.8V - 4.0V
  • Vout = 7V
  • Iout = 1.5A

 

I reduced output current and then the simulation was successed at 1.43A with IC Tj = 84.9C. I increased the output current to 1.44A then the error was occurred. So I guess that the IC Tj is limited at 85C. Tj(max) should be 150C so please check setting of Webench.

    Hi Sonoki,

    If you input the below specs and " Click why devices were not found" in the visualizer and or choose it from the pop up that comes up. Filter for TPS55340 and you will notice that the device hits current limit with this spec. It's not a temperature issue. The TjMax for this one is correctly set at 150C.

    • Vin = 2.8V - 4.0V
    • Vout = 7V
    • Iout = 1.5A
