OPA657 TI SPICE models in WEBENCH

Expert 1030 points

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA657, OPA656

I recently tried to design a low-pass filter using WEBENCH. The cutoff frequency was about 10 MHz. The recommended amplifier was an OPA656 which has a gain bandwidth figure of 500 MHz. When I tried to increase the specs somewhat, the next recommended design specified AMPLIFIER_IDEAL. I know TI have an amplifier, the OPA657, which has a GBW of 1600 MHz and I thought that would have fit the bill. Why didn't it recommend that as the amplifier to use? Is the WEBENCH library kept up-to-date? Looking forward to  any answers. Harry

  • Hi Harry,

Yes. I just verified that the OPA657 is in the WEBENCH library with the correct parameters including the GBWP.

Would you please share your design with me so I can find out why it is not selected? You can click the "Share Design" button above the WEBENCH schematic and enter my email address "zhu@ti.com".

    Thanks,
    JC
