How to use TINA-TI files from the product folder

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

There are two kinds of TINA-TI files provided for Power models in the Product folder. The first is the Reference Design (.TSC) which is a fully functioning design using the product to show the capabilities of the model. The Reference Design is usually based on the EVM that is available for the product. The file will contain the Spice Model for the product as well as the spice models for the components used on the EVM board.

If you have TINA-TI installed, you can simply open the file and the Reference Design will appear in the TINA-TI schematic capture screen.

The second file is called the Spice Model (.TSM). This is a macro that can be used to create new designs.

This file needs to be saved to your local computer for later use.

If you open this file, you will enter TINA in the macro editor. Since the macro is encrypted, you will only see the header and will not be able to use the macro. To use the macro once it is downloaded, use the following:

Navigate to the location where the macro was saved:

This will load the macro and the symbol information and you can place it.

Now, you can create your design around the part.
