Automatic Update: Switcher Pro doesn't start anymore

Hi,

after my local installed SwitcherPro updated to 3.7.6.18149 (including some MS SQL-installation) it doesn't start anymore.

:Loop

For a short moment you can see the "Downloading submodules"-window then the application vanishes.

The "AppUpdate.log" states:

20.05.2010 14:13:05:  Successful update to version:  3.7.6.18149

There are 26 SwitcherProDB.vdb3*-files exept one they are all from today.

I found a workaround renaming the AppStart._config back so the last version (1.0.0.0??? 2009-08-27)

Loop2:

It tries to download and migrate again ->goto Loop

 

Ok, starting it again via the desktop icon suddenly brings up a msi-window.... nope, it's the old version again.-> Goto Loop2

(Meanwhile: I've re-installed the MS SQL-Thing - no improvement)

 

What should I do to not download each time the new version while trying to work with my existing designs?

    I'm not sure if this will fix your problem but it's worth a try.

     

    If you start the app directly from the file system rather than a desktop shortcut.   Look in your program files/Texas Instruments/SwitcherPro Desktop/1.0.0.0/SwitcherProDT.exe

    if you have other folders like 3.5.29820 and 3.60.25627 these are the older versions fo the tool (you should be able to start those versions as well if you need too work around some bug in the latest version )

    Yes, this is working. I probably did it already indrectly by renaming the  .config file.

     

    Then the old application is downloading the new one and  tries to migrate at least when I start it the next time - it's a bit annoying - but as a workaround ok.

    I'll email you the event-viewer-file (but it's binary)

    Hi,

     

    I could neither email (noraply-adress) nor attach the eventviewer-file.

     

    Some other information: WinXP SP3, older version of SwitcherPro is  3.3.0.26304
