Error while running Pspice model of LM2596

Hello,

I have added the PSPICE library of LM2596 and tried to run the circuit but its not working and displaying the error (ERROR(ORPSIM-15108): Subcircuit LM2596_3P3_TRANS used by X_U2 is undefined), would you please help me for this?

Is LM2596 still exist? Because it is not even in TI WEBENCH.

I am not sure I understand your question. LM2596 is supported by WEBENCH. The PSpice model on the web works fine in PSpice. There is no issue with undefined subcircuits. What simulator are you using? If using PSpice, have you included the Lib file in your sim profile?

Yes it is working after adding library into sim profile.

Mandar,

You can enter your specifications in the WEBENCH panel and it will give a whole bunch of recommendations. If you have more advanced requirements than just Vin, Vout and Load Current, so check out the "Advanced Options" on the Visualizer page.

Hello Nikhil,

I have tried this before but I found some complex design. As i have small PCB size limit so I asked you to suggest any small circuit like Simple switcher LM2596. Thank you again for your reply.

Mandar,

For your circuit, you can change the Optimization Dial to Setting 1 (Smallest Footprint). This will not only rank the solutions by footprint size, but it also selects external discrete components like inductors, capacitors, etc. which are small in size.

Also, if you click on the Feature Filter >> Reg Type >> Choose "Simple Switcher" to narrow down to only Simple Switcher solutions
To go one step further, you may want to narrow down to only modules which integrate the inductor and a few other components. To do this click on Feature Filter >> Reg Type >> Module.

Another thing to keep in mind is to look at the BOM Count in the solutions table. You may want to pick a solution that has lower BOM count in your case.
