Draw1.PDF

Hi there,

I am trying to modify the CC2650EM-4XS reference design to suit my custom application.  I know each of the individual sections work well but I don't know if the custom board that is defined in the attached PDF file will actually work.

Could somebody take a look at it and comment?

Thanks

John P.

  • Hello John,

Is this for a BLE application? Are you asking about the CC2650 aspect of the design?

    Best wishes
  • Hi John,

You have connected the VDDS and VDDR pins together. That will only work if your power source is 1.8 V and in that case you must tie VDDS_DCDC and DCDC_SW to ground. If your power source is higher than 1.8 V you must follow the regular reference designs and supply VDDR from the internal DCDC.

FL2 is currently not connected between your regulator and VDDS. Decoupling caps for VDDR are missing. R21 serves no purpose. R23-R26 is not needed I guess. You can remove C41 and C42.

    Cheers,
    Fredrik
  • Thanks for the reply. I figured it out on my own. I just let pin 18 float. and all was well. 4 months is a bit long for a tech support reply, isn't it? Especially for a company that has no other way to ask for support.
  • Hi John,

I did not see that you posted in April. I am sorry for the slow response. For future questions about CC2640 and BLE I recommend you to post in the BLE forum.

    Cheers,
    Fredrik
