Daniel Morley

I have a PCB with this hooked up this LED driver to GPIO instead of a serial port. Can this board still DIM its lights in the 64 intensity levels describe in the data sheet.

Hello Daniel,

The intensity levels correspond to dot correction "DC" values that are programmed via the serial interface, so if you don't communicate via the serial data channels then the answer is no.

Hi Casey

The serial interface is connected. Can this chip adjust the brightness of the LED with out it being turn off while the SPI is loading the register.

Daniel,

I don't understand your question. Are you asking if the LEDs must be turned off during adjustment of the brightness values? Can you please rephrase?

All the Utube videos show that the LED driver can dim but they always turn off LED before they DIM. Is it possible to go between two or more register states which set the brightness with out the light being turn completely off.

Hello Daniel,

Yes, the registers can be programmed without blanking the LEDs. Some example projects set the blank pin high during device programming, which is probably what you are referring to.
