Hello community!
We are at the late stages of a modular power monitoring system design. A desire has been expressed to include a narrowband powerline communications module. We will only be able to do this if we can find a solution that takes care of the MAC and network layers etc. and lets us focus specifically on a simple application layer. As such, we would need a solution that takes care of the network management with only high level instructions being required from our application processor.
It appears as though TI have these types of modem solutions but I am struggling to find good documentation relating to the software side of things as opposed to the hardware design. Can somebody please suggest a path for us to get to a point where we effectively have a uart->PLC modem module with only light weight requirements being placed on the application processor.
We need to be compliant with CENELEC B-D and we would also need the system to be G3-PLC (or similar, even if not accredited) as we will need to communicate from LV->MV->LV.
I would appreciate it if you could suggest a design and, importantly, if you could point us towards example application code to give us an idea as to what we will need to implement on our application processor.
Thank you in advance!
