How Tina Models Inductors

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

I am designing an analog filter that has an inductor in it.  Let's say it is 1mH.  Does Tina model it as 1mH regardless of frequency?

Thanks

  • David,

Yes, unless you have a .SUBCKT model that can change the inductance value with the frequency of the signal applied. The simple inductor in TINA-TI will allow you an inductance value, Rseries value, Initial DC current, linear and quadratic Temp co, and maximum ratings for current and voltage.

There are a couple of non-linear inductors that can be used as well, and they allow some different parameters and cores to be chosen. You can use the Component Help in TINA-TI to give more details about their parameters and usage.
