Importing Spice model results in empty netlist

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

I am a new user to Tina-TI and I'm attempting to import a spice model for a Rohm 2SCR512P NPN transistor using the New Macro Wizard. I enter the name as 2SCR512P and browse to the 2SCR512P.LIB file; click Next and the next dialog box shows an empty Netlist.

In TIna-TI, if I use "File -> Import -> PSpice Netlist" then open the file and click the "Compile" icon I get a "Successfully compiled." message.

I attempted to export a model of a basic 2N2222 that is included in the TINA distribution as a Pspice model (.CIR) file which appears to export ok; but that file gives the same "empty netlist" as the 2SCR512P.LIB.

Any idea why I'm having trouble importing the models?

  • Keith,

You are probably confused by the way that TINA-TI handles this kind of model import. For devices that have .SUBCKT statements, you will need to pick a symbol and assign the connectivity. For devices that have a .MODEL statement only, TINA-TI knows the connectivity and the symbol to use, so the interface comes up blank.

Just click on Next and the program will ask you where to save the macro and then if you want to place it.

BTW, when I export the 2N2222 Here is what I get. I did export it for PSpice...
