Spice model

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM2596, TINA-TI

I tried to download the Spice model of LM2596. But I am confused with the model description. Which one to download?http://webench.ti.com/webench5/spicemodels/?DCMP=hpa_hpa_elabs&HQS=spicerack#. http://webench.ti.com/webench5/spicemodels/?DCMP=hpa_hpa_elabs&HQS=spicerack#

  • Sukumar,

There are several models available for the LM2596. The one you need to download depends on what you are trying to do. If you are using PSpice version 15.7 or higher, you can download the PSpice model (not unencrypted) and the complete reference design and simulation profile is contained for all of the fixed voltage versions that are available. If you are using a different simulator that supports PSpice model import, download the unencrypted PSpice model. You will have to create the symbol and reference design in your simulator.

If you are using TINA-TI, simply design your circuit in WEBENCH® Power designer using the panel in the product folder and export your custom design to TINA-TI with the SimExport icon. You can then open the design in TINA-TI.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
