TINA-TI

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI, TPS61170

Is there any way to save the analysis output from TINA-TI so I don't have to re-run the analysis?

I have several different versions of a simulation using the TPS61170 in a SEPIC design, and a single transient simulation run takes many minutes.

I can, of course, save the plots from the Diagram Window(s), but that does NOT save the actual node voltages, currents, etc.

  • Richard,

On the waveform viewer, click on File >> Export >> "As Text..."
  • Thanks.

That kind of works, as long as you don't try to import the .txt file into the Diagram Window.

Trying that gives an error that states the first line is not a valid number (because it is the *Time title).

You have to use Excel or some other program to graph the results.

There also are issues on a Win 7 Pro laptop (I7 with LOTS of memory) when there is a huge amount of data to export.

Both the export and TINA-TI show "not responding" for a LONG time while the data is being exported.

The simulation I am doing is for a TPS61170 in SEPIC configuration, and it takes 20 milliseconds to get the full transient analysis.

That analysis starts with essentially no load, then at 10mS puts a 300mA load on the output for 5mS then back to no load, so supply performance can be simulated.

IF I export everything, the .txt file is over 400MB!!!!

  • Richard,

In the import window, there should be an option to skip a certain number of rows. Also change the delimiter to Tab. You could give this a shot or there is another option you can try.

To save: File >> Save >> Save as .tdr
To Open: File >> Open >> Point to .tdr file
