Webench Operating values:

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM25118

I created a DC-DC regulator design defined for an input of 18-36 volts, with the nominal input set at 27 volts.  The problem I'm seeing, is that the operating values window, shows the operating points for a Vin of 36 volts.  When i change the Vin value, for example, to 28 Volts Vin, and press the recalculate tab. The new operating values show an increase in the BOM footprint.  I was thinking that the BOM/schematic  would remain constant during the recalculation.  Is this a bug, or do I not understanding something.

  • Hello Robert,

You are right, the BOM/Schematic will remain constant for the change in input voltage, as long as the converter IC is not changing. If the converter IC changes, it will be a completely new design. Which converter IC are you using to create this design? What is the value of current you are trying to draw from output?

Please share the design details and we will try to recreate the issue and get back to you after looking into it.

    Thanks!!

  • Ok, what is your email address. Or is there another way to get it to you.
  • Hello Robert,

We tried to replicate the design with your input conditions and around 1.6A output load current for LM25118 device. We are observing that the Footprint number remains same 1.51kmm2 for input 36V and 24V. The BoM count is changing from 28 to 2 which might be a display issue and we looking further into it. I will get back to you as soon as the issue with LM25118 is resolved. I have attached the images for both conditions to this post.

If you are observing this for any other part kindly let us know. You can reply to this post or contact me on mahavir@ti.com.

    Thanks!!

  • Hello Robert,

We have fixed the incorrect BoM count display issue as well. Please try it out and let us know if you face any issues.

    Thanks!!
