Solar Micro Inverter development kit TMDSSOLARUINVKIT for off-grid

Dear TI,

I am looking for a design solution for an off-grid micro inverter.

I am interested in the Solar Micro Inverter development kit TMDSSOLARUINVKIT (www.ti.com/.../TMDSSOLARUINVKIT) and I have some questions.

- Is it possible to operate it as an off-grid inverter?

- Can it be configured the firmware to regulate the AC output voltage without grid-connected?

  • Dear ,

The answer for both of your two questions is yes. Please See the user guide bellow, the project is divided into incremental builds to run .To regulate AC output off-line ,you can #define GRID_CONNECT 0 and #define BUILD 3.In addition ,#define MPPT to 0 or 1 , to choose close or open MPPT.

  • We do provide an option to check without connecting to the grid , but please note that in that option only current is regulated at the output, the voltage is unregulated, so the answer to the poster's question is that the software provided does not support a voltage regulated off grid inv mode.
