About Bode plot of WEBENCH

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Hi,

My customer has questions.

Q1.

When there is an input voltage range(ex.VIN min 5V ~ VIN max 12V),
Bode plot of webench is,
Which input voltage do you have made on the basis of?

Q2.

Result of Bode diagram,
Is there a difference in the TINA TI and WEBENCH?

  • Moving to the power and lighting tools forum.

  • Watanabe-san,

The default value for the initial bode plot simulation in the Electrical simulation section is the median voltage (in your example, it would be 8.5V). If you have the bode plot charts feature available on the part, you will see that the voltage used is the median voltage (the color of the plot). You can also edit the voltage input for the bode plot simulation, however, you cannot exceed the initial ranges provided.

If you are running the Electrical simulation for the Bode Plot and the TINA-TI Bode plot simulation, they should be relatively close (differences in simulator only as the models are the same). If you are comparing the Bode Plot from the plots with the Bode Plot simulation in TINA-TI, you may see some differences in that they use different sets of equations for the calculation. They should be relatively close, however.

  • Hi,

    I appreciate for your support.

I understood the Electrical simulation section is the median voltage.
I understood they should be relatively close.
