Nonlinear transformer

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Hello,

Please refer to my circuit below. we are curious that the balance problem between Vout+ and Vout-. When we changed the DCR2 and DCR3, the balance will change. I would like to know where the  DCR2 and DCR3 in the model? just like the ideal inductor series a resistor? in the ideal transformer model, what is the DCR value? zero? I did not see the balance problem by using ideal transformer.

  • Steven,

The non-ideal transformer has several parameters that can be varied. Please double left click on the transformer to see the parameters available:

The DCR values are shown in the red boxes. In the ideal transformer model, you cannot change the DCR as it is ideal and has no DCR value. When the simulation is run, the DCR value is associated to the coil inductance and is in series with this inductance. If you place an inductor in TINA-TI you can add a DCR to it as well which is a series resistance.
