Converting .lib to .olb of AMC1100

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AMC1100

I can't convert the .lib that I have down loaded from ti site to .olb, using PSpice model editor i get the massage that

"saving new models to it will destroy any of its original contents since the library .... does not contain any models"

is it a bad file in the TI site or it's a conversion issue on my PC?

the spice model can be foun in

www.ti.com/.../toolssoftware

  • Hi Isar,

The .lib file and .olb file are two different files that are used for different functionalities in PSPICE. The .lib of a device (e.g. AMC1100), contains PSPICE model whereas a .olb file contains symbol information like pins placement, TI logo etc. You CAN NOT derive one from another by changing extensions.

However, if you have licensed version of PSPICE, you can create a hierarchical block and associate the .lib file with that block, to use the PSPICE model in your schematic. Hope this helps. Please let us know if you have further questions.

    Thanks!!

    Best Regards,

    Mahavir Jain.

  • Isar,

You will need to use the Export model to capture library function of the PSpice model editor to create the .olb file from the .lib file. This will create the symbol that you can use with PSpice.
