Saving a TINA spice model to the library

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA240, TINA-TI

Is there a way to save a model into the TINA library?  For example, I have downloaded the INA240 TINA model, unzipped the folder, and inserted the macro model from that folder.  But is there a way to get it so that it is grouped in with all the other TINA models in the library instead of in its own folder?

Thanks!

Russell

  • Hi Russel,

The zip file you downloaded from Tools and Software section of the part, contains *.tld and *.lib files. You have to keep these files in SPICELIB folder of TINA installation (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\DesignSoft\Tina 9 - TI\SPICELIB). After keeping these files, use Tools>>Re-compile Library and then Tools>>Re-build Library options. This should allow you to insert the part in TINA-TI schematic from Texas Library.

Hope above steps help you resolve the issue. Please let us know if you need further support.

    Thanks!!

  • Thank you Mahavir,

One more question.  I went through the above steps, restarted TINA, and the part doesn't show up under Spice Macros.  I went through all the tabs and couldn't find it.  Once again, I was using the INA240 current shunt monitor.
