TINA/Spice/LMZ34002: Use LMZ34002 to have from a -15V => -18V

Part Number: LMZ34002
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI,

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

Hello,

We want to create from a +/-15V a +/-18V power supply (current needed is about 1A on each side). The GND is needed !!

Here is the topology we are thinking about:

The problem/question I have is on the LMZ34002 !!
It should work but I'm not able to make the simulation with this configuration.
With normal configuration I'm able to simulate with LTspice and also your WEBENCH but as soon as I try to use how we want to implement it, it don't work.
With LTspice this one is really slow, with WEBENCH I don't have good result and the simulation is too FAST.

Here are my questions:
1. Is it an issue to use LMZ34002 as shown as above ?
2. How could I make the simulation work then ?

Many thanks.

  • Fabien,

    I am fairly certain that the PSpice model will not work with in this manner. Many of the PSpice models have ground nodes referenced internally and offsetting the ground pin does not work with the model. I have not seen this tried with this particular model previously.

    I am not sure if the device will work in this configuration, however, I am not an expert on the power module devices. I would advise posting the configuration you are wanting to use to the Power Modules Forum to see if they can provide you some more insight. Here is a link to that forum:
