TINA/Spice/LM25037: LM25037 Unencrypted Model in Micro-Cap 11

Part Number: LM25037
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI,

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

I have a customer who is having issues using the unencrypted model for the LM25037 in Micro-Cap 11. It will not simulate and they are wondering if there is an issue with the model.

Have we had issue with using the models in this software environment?

I will send further updates from the customer as soon as I receive them.

Thanks for your help with this!

  • Richard,

We have not had any specific issues with power models in Micro-Cap. I believe that there have been issues previously with node names including symbols, but the power models generally do not have that issue.

The functions being used in the model all appear to be supported in Micro-Cap. I do know that the model cannot be used in an inverting configuration if that is the customer's application.

If you do get more information, please let us know.

  • Britt,

Thanks for your response. I will try and see if I can get any further information. I will post it here when I receive it.

Thanks for your help with this!

  • Britt,

The customer cannot provide the results of their simulation as the project is classified. Please look at the comments below from the customer:

I’m wondering if you can supply a minimalist circuit that shows the A & B outputs can be active & out of phase. I cannot provide a circuit snapshot sine it is classified.

The best I can do is just to tell you that the 25037 is used in a push-pull configuration.  In the simulation circuit using Microcap, only one of the two output drives is working and I get nothing at the ramp node.

Can we provide a “minimalist” circuit that shows the outputs as the customer has asked? He cannot get the simulation to work showing both outputs working in a push-pull type configuration where they are operating out of phase with each. Can we supply this type simulation to prove that the model works in Micro-Cap?

Thanks for your help with this!

  • Richard,

We do not currently have Micro-cap for use and do not support it directly, other than providing the PSpice models that can import into it. I can provide the circuit and waveforms that the TINA-TI simulation show for the EVM design. They are shown below.

    Circuit for the EVM:

    Zoomed waveforms from simulation:

    I hope this information helps.

  • Britt,

I am not sure that this will help the customer as he is trying to use the model in Micro-Cap, but it does show that the model does work properly and I will send this for him to look at.

I appreciate all of your help and I will let you know if the customer has any further questions.

    Thanks again!
