TINA/Spice/DP83848Q-Q1: IBIS, DP83848Q-Q1

Part Number: DP83848Q-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI,

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

Hello,

I have a question about IBIS model of DP83848Q-Q1,  "dp83848qsq.ibs".

- There is two [Model] g24q370 and g24q371. What is the difference of this model?

  Is following correct?

     - g24q370 = MII Mode

     - g24q371 = RMII Mode

  • The difference is that the MII and RMII are different but similar standards. The g24q370 supports the MII standard, and the g24q371 model supports the RMII standard. The circuit has a control pin which is set by pin 32. For functional operation of the device, this pin controls MII vs RMII operation.

For IBIS simulation, that option is set by the Model Selector statement, which you simulator will allow you to change.

Please let me know if you have any more questions.

  • Hello David,

    Thank you for answering.
    I have another question.

I found description "Speed Selection(SS)" at "Basic Mode Control Register" in datasheet.
    - 1 = 100Mb/s
    - 0 = 10Mb/s
And IBIS also has description "mode SS" at [Model Selector] g24q37x
    - g24q370: mode SS = VSS
    - g24q371: mode SS = VDD

Is it wrong that [Model Selector] g24q37x is for "Speed Selection(SS)"?
If so, What does it mean of "mode SS"?
