Webench/LM2596: Sim lm2596

Part Number: LM2596
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Tool/software: Webench

Support Path: /Tools & software/Help me with an issue/Design Kits / Evaluation Modules / Boards/Software issue/

I want to create a small, simple circuit design with the lm2596. However I didn't see that part in webbench

Can you help me?

  • Hi Michael,

TI provides an option for users to edit schematics in WEBENCH as per there requirement. On LM2596 product folder, in bottom left WEBENCH window, you can enter your design specifications. WEBENCH will create a design for you which will meet those specifications. When you click 'Open Design', a separate WEBENCH window will open. In this window, you can see the schematic, corresponding BoM list and efficiency curves, Operating Values and WEBTHERM PCB etc. If you change the 'Optimization Tuning', the schematic will be updated automatically and all other vales e.g. OpVals, Efficiency curves etc. will change.

If you want to change schematic components, you can click on schematic window, which will then enlarge and provide you the 'Edit' options. You can edit your schematic and export it for simulation or PCB design using 'SIM Export' and 'CAD Export' features respectively. Just to clarify, WEBENCH does not allow you to create a design from scratch by placing components like PSPICE or TINA-TI. If you are looking for that option, you can always import our models in those tools and create your own schematic.

Hope this information helps. Please let us know if you have some specific questions.

    Thanks!!

    Best Regards,

    Mahavir Jain.
