TINA/Spice/TPS92691-Q1: Average Pspice model for TPS92691-Q1

Part Number: TPS92691-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI,

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

May I get the Average pspice model for TPS92691-Q1. Average model is not availbale on TI website?.

I want to evaluate the compensation network on this and which can be done only on Average Pspice model.

  • Hi Harish,

Currently we do not have average model for this part and no plans to generate the same in near future.  But WEBENCH provides a complete design with compensation network components, calculated based on the design specifications you provide. You can use this WEBENCH feature to evaluate compensation network for different variations of your specs. You can also  run transient simulations on WEBENCH to make sure the generated schematic is working correctly.

Alternatively we have SIM Export feature enabled for this part. So, you can export these designs into TINA-TI simulation tool and test it out there. Hope this information helps. Please let us know if you face any issues.

    Thanks!!

    Best Regards,

  • Thanks Mahavir.

I modified the WEBENCH design as we're using TPS9261-Q1 in SEPIC mode with two inductor instead  of coupled inductor, but not able to run the simulation. Simulation is taking too much time to start and also I' m not getting any option to select the simulation type (refer below screenshot)

Please provide your thoughts on this.

Let me know if you want modified design files for reference.

  • Hi Harish,

For this device we are facing issue with netlist generation in the background after user modifies the schematic to add components. Without this netlist, WEBENCH is not able to launch simulation on TISPICE the way it does for regular design. Also for this same reason, I can not export TINA-TI compatible version to check your schematic locally in TINA.

Our WEBENCH Software team is looking into the issue. I will get back to you as soon as we are able to pinpoint and resolve the issue that is causing it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Thanks!!

    Mahavir Jain.
  • Hi Harish,

It looks like the issue will take longer to resolve at backend. Our Software team is working on the resolution. Meanwhile, I will highly recommend you to download TINA-TI, export the default design generated in WEBENCH (without making any changes to the schematic on WEBENCH), and edit the schematic in TINA-TI as per your application needs.

We have a detailed video explaining the Sim Export procedure for this in TINA-TI support section. I would be happy to help you in this regard if you face any issue.

    Thanks!!

    Best Regards,

    Mahavir Jain.

  • Thanks for your response.
WEBENCH export the transient model to TINA and AC analysis can be performed only on average model.
Actually we tried to do the AC analysis using TINA on one of the regulator from TI but It was giving some error. You can check the response from TI member for this on below link

  • We'll do this test on actual physical board, so could you provide reference document on how to perform AC analysis on physical board and also which type of spectrum analyzer TI is using for the same?
