TINA/Spice/LM2597HV: TINA TI (.TSC/.SCH) file needed for LM2597HV

Part Number: LM2597HV
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI,

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

Hi Lydia/ Parishrutbadoni,

This is Pradeepkumar.S, Design Engineer from L&T Technology Services, Chennai.

I am working on the project in which TI part LM2597HV is used as buck converter for +28VDC to +5VDC conversion. We now need to simulate the design before proceeding to fab. I tried to export LM2597HV TINA model (.TSC/.SCH) from TI website through WEBENCH SIM-EXPORT option, which is instructed from your pdf file slvmay6a.pdf, but I can find the option Export Sim from the WEBENCH toolbar.

Also tried the option downloading the spice netlist and importing it into TINA, but it returns an error message but not imported.

Hereby I am requesting you to provide the TINA model (.TSC/.SCH) for the part LM2597HV. Since we need to close this simulation by the very earliest, kindly do the needful ASAP.

Thanks & Regards,

S.Pradeepkumar

  • Hi Pradeep,

For LM2597HV device, Sim Export feature has been enabled for Adjustable version only as of now. You can go to WEBENCH, search for adjustable version LM2597HV part, enter your desired design specifications and generate the design. Same design can be simulated on WEBENCH as well as exported to tools of your choice e.g. TINA-TI, PSPICE or Altium. I could export the design for VIN = 24V to 30V, VOUT = 5V, IOUT = 0.5A application. I have attached the same for your reference.

Alternatively, TI provides unencrypted model for this part's adjustable version in Tools & Software section. I could not get the error message from your forum request, but I have imported the model in TINA-TI and could successfully generate macro out of it. I am attaching the macro as well. The pin placements can changed by using Edit Symbol option in TINA-TI (Simply right click on the macro once you insert it in schematic and Edit Symbol option will be there at the bottom).
