TINA/Spice/OPA140: How to plot Zout, PSRR, CMRR vs. frequency in TINA-TI

Dear Support,

in the OPA140 TI design reference :

are visible simulations of output impedance and PSRR versus frequency.

I am designing a low noise, high-Z input buffer around a pair of OPA140

(seeOPA140_non_inverting_parallel_AC.TSC

)

I would like to plot Zout, PSRR ( and CMRR too, if possible) for my circuit, however I can not figure out how to configure

TINA-TI. Should I use post-processing features or add specific meters ? What kind of simulation shoud I run ?

Hi Alberto,

For frequency sweep, you have to run AC-analysis.

In the schematic editor of TINA, go to Analysis --> AC Analysis ---> AC Transfer Characteristics

Dear Bhushan,

I would need to know how to plot Zout, PSSR and CMRR. Generating the sweep is just the easy part of the job.
How should I configure the test bench ?

Dear Bhushan,

thank you for the document. It is very interesting.
However, I stiil have doubts about how to configure in detail the TINA-TI test bench.
Could you please send me a TSC demo file showing how to make such simulations
with Op Amps ?

Hello Alberto,

Z_OUT – the 'SPICE Op Amp Macromodels: “Trust but verify”' blog mentions how to measure Z_OUT (see Figure 5) using TINA-TI.

PSRR – ‘TI Precision Labs - Op Amps: Power Supply Rejection’ goes over how to measure PSRR using TINA-TI.

CMRR – ‘TI Precision Labs - Op Amps: Common Mode Rejection’ goes over how to measure CMRR using TINA-TI
