Hi,

Attached TINA simulation transient analysis is very slow. Please comment.

Hi Naveen,

You have set TSTOP to 50ms. Is that really necessary for your simulation? Startup time should be around 5ms for this device.

Hi Nikhil,

We have a use case to validate switcher output up to 10 sec.

Do you need to evaluate switching behavior? What exactly are you looking to get from this simulation?

Hi Nikhil,

We need to verify switcher output with ISO16750-2 (2012) starting profile (sec 4.6.3) pulse. This pulse will be applied at input power lines.

Hi Vinod,

Unfortunately, the transient model is going to be very slow for this purpose (even impractical). You can try to use the average model for this purpose (this will not show any switching, but only the average waveform on various nodes) to see if that will solve your problem.

Once example of where we have used Average models to simulate transient behavior is shown here: www.ti.com/.../slvm512. You can use this as your reference.

Note that if you do decide to use the average model for LM46002, startup will not be modeled there. So your sim results should be biased to start from Steady state, but you can change your inputs after time t=0.
