Adding a TINA Model

I am having trouble adding a TINA model to the program. Sorry if this question has been answered already, I just can not find it online.

I want to add the OPA2376 (OPA376) to TINA. I downloaded the TINA model from the product page, but am not sure how to access it in the program. I can not find an, "Add new model" button anywhere. Any help would be great.

    NJC,

    If you have downloaded the TINA .TSM file, you do not need to "Add a new model". You simply need to use the Insert--->Macro... from the top menu. A dialog box will appear and you can navigate to the location where you stored the .TSM file. This will place the macro into your schematic.

    Alternatively, you can download the reference design, open up the design and your new circuit at the same time and copy and paste the macro from the reference design into your new design. Either way will allow you to place the macro into your new schematic.

    Thank you so much for your quick response. Can't believe I missed something so simple. So far I am very pleased with TINA, and am happy to take a break from PSPICE.

    Hi,

      I'm trying a similar situation, but with the TLV3501. I'm using TINA 7 industrial. When trying to use the .TSM file I get the following:

    Unable to open ...\Tina7\TI\TLV3501_TINA_AIO\TLV3501.TSM

    Alternatly I tried to use the design and schematic   Unable to open ...\Tina7\TI\TLV3501_TINA_AIO\sboc228c.tsc

    Larry,

    The .TSM and .TSC files were created using TINA v9. These files are not backward compatible to TINA v7. However, you can download TINA-TI v9 for free from the TI website and it will open both correctly. If you would like to continue using TINA v7 Industrial, ther are a couple of ways that you could try to get these files into a TINA v7 format:

    1.) Download TINA-Ti v9. Open the .TSC file and save it under a different name, but select TINA v7 schematics instead of schematics. Since the .TSC was constructed using TINA v9, this may not always work.

    2.) You can also add the .lib and .tld files from the model file download the the SPICELIB directory in your TINA v7 industrial installation. This will add the constructs to build the .TSM to the program. When you start TINA v7, it will detect the new libraries and ask if you want to build the device. If this all works correctly, you will be able to select the device from the pull down under the OpAmp tab. The problem will be that the symbol is not present, so you will get a generic symbol instead of the correct one.

    Ideally, you would just use TINA-TI v9 for the simulation. You can open any TINA v7 schematics with v9, but v7 cannot open saved v9 schematics.

       Thanks for the info and quick response, I used #2 worked out just fine. I kinda like the options I have with ver 7 (Monte Carlo....)

    I'll have to give TINA 9 at home unless I can have both installed on my work PC,  Yet another reason to work at home.
