TINA/Spice/TPS54531: How to import TPS54531 unencrypted model into TI

Part Number: TPS54531
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI,

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

Team,

My customer is trying to import an unencrypted TPS54531 model into TINA, and is getting an error about a missing “*.tld” file. Can you help?

Thanks

Viktorija

  • Hi Viktorija,

I have tried importing the unencrypted model into TINA-TI and it is working. You can follow below steps.

    1. Open TINA-TI

            2. Go to Tools-->New macro wizard

            3. Enter macro name as PARTNUMBER_<TRANS or AVG>

            4. Uncheck "Current circuit" and browse to saved .LIB file.

            5. Enter parameters, if present, in Parameters field.

            6. Click next.

            7. Click next.

            8. Click next.

            9. Insert macro in TINA and edit macro symbol in Symbol Editor.

            10. Pin names must be according to Datasheet.

Please let me know if you still face any issue. If needed I can send you the .TSC file with unencrypted .TSM at your TI email.

    Thanks,

    Somen

  • This worked, but I have two more questions:

    1. On the first New Macro Wizard dialog box, in the "Defaults" section are "Label:" and "Parameters:". When importing a model like this, how do I know if/what I need to change or add to this field?

    2. How do I get the new part to show up in my "Spice Macros -> SMPS" library?
  • Hi,

    Please find my answers below.

    1.  We do not add/modify anything there.

    2.  PFA the document which describes how to add new parts in Spice Macros -> SMPS library. How_to_add_part_in_SPICELIB.pdf

    Thanks,
