TPS40170: WEBENCH® Tools: WEBENCH licence and Altium

I have installed the WEBENCH extension in altium, clikced on "Activate WEBENCH Altium Connector" I get a message from Altium that this is already activated - it doesn't go to a web page that provides me with a license. when I go to Altium preferences there is no activation code. I cannot find a way to get an activation code.


Here is the message that I get:

* ERROR * Unable to check out license for simulation. (LICENSE-1)


* ERROR * Invalid node locked license for host [49D2641267E9843DA197F934633133E608875BAE46352F2D73A1F2447A523197E5A4E5F56825595C29076EB49A51701AA5B63289A82600D4B9866BD25977E06E]. Please send this entire error message when requesting a license file. (LICENSE-4)


* ERROR * Please install the new license file into the path: C:/ProgramData/Altium/Altium Designer {F6122D6C-4023-4483-A068-CE34487E778E}/Extensions/WEBENCH/WBSE/node_license (LICENSE-5)


Simulation: FAIL

    Hi Matthew,

    In order to populate the activation key (if it already exists in your machine)  you need to click on activate button.It should populate it.

    If the key does not get populated, it means the key does not exists in the machine. 

    Please let us know the version of Altium Designer as well as WEBENCH extension you have installed in your machine to further assist with this issue.

    Matthew,

    We have verified that there is no request received for WEBENCH extension for activation.  This might be an issue with the network connection. Please find attached the license file for your machine.

    Please copy the file in following location in your machine. You need admin rights for copying file to this location.

    C:/ProgramData/Altium/Altium Designer {F6122D6C-4023-4483-A068-CE34487E778E}/Extensions/WEBENCH/WBSE/node_license

    I overwrote the existing file with the one that you provided, then restarted my computer. When I go webench->activate webench altuim connector i get the same error ""webench altium connector is already activated."

    When I go to preferences->simulation->webench it shows the correct folder that I copied the new file to (the file that you gave me), but I still cannot get an activation key.

    Hi Matthew,

    You need not activate connector after updating the file. The connector is activated and the message is correct . It should pickup the key automatically from the file.

    If you want to manually activate, you can copy the content of the file in Preferences->Simulation->WEBENCH-> Activation Key.

    Did you try running the simulation? You should be able to run the simulation with the new file.
