RTOS/TIDA-01575: How to interface TIDA01575 sensor module with CC3220SF

Hi, I want to interface TIDA01575 sensor module with CC3220SF in reference design "Reference Design for Wireless Condition Monitor for Motors and Pumps using Multi-Axis Vibration" the TIDA01575 is used with MSP432P401R. Is this TIDA01575 module is compatible with CC3220SF and to implement it what changes I have to do ?

CC3220SD does not have a precision 14-bit ADC like the MSP432P401R and hence you would loose resolution per bit. Also for the CC3220SF has an ADC input range of 0 to 1.4V which is less than the zero-g offsent of the design. In other words you would need to do a lot of changes to the design and yet not be able to get full design entitlement.

Now another way of doing this would be to treat the TIDA-01575 as a sensor node and use BLE+CC3220SF as a gateway device.

Can you please elaborate your project so that we can assess if there are better ways of doing what you intend?

Hello Sagar,

Another option is to use the CC3120 as the Wifi N/W processor instead of the BLE CC2650 device. The Wifi Plugin for the MSP432P4 can be used to replace the BLE Plugin and be able to get WiFi connectivity.

Thank you for replay, Can I use only CC3220SF with TIDA-01575 as CC3220SF has 1MB of flash with to program ?

Hello Amit

I want to design a vibration sensor to monitor the health of the 3 phase induction motor. So I referred the "Reference Design for Wireless Condition Monitor for Motors and Pumps using Multi-Axis Vibration". Here I want to use a Wi-Fi module instead of Bluetooth. So I want to use CC3220SF instead of CC2650. Therefore what changes should I do?

Also CC3220SF has its internal 1 MB Flash so can I use TIDA-01575 with CC3220SF directly without MSP432P401R.

Hello Sagar,

More than Flash being the issue, it is the resolution of the ADC which is a limiting factor. Hence by using the CC3120 instead you would be able to work seamlessly with the design with a simplified n/w stack and Host software.
