Hi sir,

Cant we limit the high inrush current using some soft start mechanism in the control code itself?. 

Is implementing the precharge converter is the only option we have?

    Hi Eswar,

    You will need to have the startup clamp for limiting inrush current reliabiliy. Soft start mechanism through the code alone wont be enough for this converter. The startup clamp is a very low power/ low cost circuit for implementing this.
