TPS54361EMC design

24V power is being reviewed and applied to ADAS:TPS54361QDPR. Please check the loop diagram in the attachment, especially the EMC design (radiation, conduction) and the selection of the parts. If there is a difference, please give a detailed explanation and give the countermeasures. Thank you.

  • Hello Meng,

I assume that you want to pass CISPER 25 class 5.

    Filter:

You need more impedance in your input filter, ~ 100 Ohm bead rather than a 22 Ohm bead. You also need about 3 X the input cap - Vdd in your schematic. Please use the filter designer in Webench to get a better combination. My calculations show trouble in the CB and TV bands if not modified.

    SW node:

Common mode noise is very sensitive to layout. You need a layout review to look at EMI.

I calculate that you will likely need one of the following: a snubber, a shield, or common mode choke. You need about 6 dB in the TV and FM bands. The shield should just work. The snubber will take some fine tuning if used. The common mode choke should be approximately 5 uH. Combining the common mode choke and snubber is a good idea. Neither of these is needed if a shield over the SW node is used.
