TINA/Spice/INA240: INA240 model not giving any amplification

Part Number: INA240
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

Hello,

I have imported the INA240A3 model into LTSpice using the .LIB file.
Unfortunately I am not getting the expected behaviour of the model.

The input should be amplified by factor 100. Yet no amplification can be observed.

  • I duplicated your circuit in TINA, and it seems to work as expected.
In the TINA circuit below, the input signal is a 10mVpp sine wave with a 20mV DC offset..

    The output should have a Gain*Vin = 100*0.01 = 1Vpp output, with a Gain*Vin_dc + Vref = 100*0.02+2.5 = 4.5VDC offset.
This is what is shown in the plot below. The output is slightly clipped because it is bumping against the upper rail.

The LTspice EULA forbids us from giving help in LTspice, so we can't diagnose and fix any problems with our models in that simulator.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Regards,
    John

  • Thank you for the quick reply.
Somehow a DC sweep in LTSpice doesn't seem to be possible with this model.
    But a transient analysis works.
