TIDA-01573: vs LMG1020EVM-006

Genius 12760 points
Part Number: TIDA-01573
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMG1020EVM-006, LMG1020

Comparing the schematic from
TIDA-01573 - Nanosecond Laser Driver Reference Design for LiDAR (not for sale)

with
LMG1020EVM-006 - LMG1020 GaN Low-side Driver + GaN FET LiDAR Evaluation Module (available on TI-Store)

it seems to be the same board.

What are the differences that they are not linked together?

Regards, Bernd

  • Hi BO,

Thanks for reaching out, Im an apps eng with LMG1020.

    These boards are the same.
    TIDA sch: www.ti.com/.../tidrvr3.pdf
    EVM sch: www.ti.com/.../snou150.pdf

The first page of the TIDA sch includes a block diagram of the part which basically says that the TIDA board is the same as the EVM.

    TIDA-01573 and LMG1020EVM-006 BOM/Schematic are the same.
The only differences is that the DNP components are included in the TIDA BOM.
Did this bring confusion? how do you think we can clear it up?

    Thanks,
  • Hi Jeff,

it is confusing that we mention on the TIDA page "Fully assembled board (shown above) developed for testing and performance validation only, not available for sale." instead of referencing to the EVM when it is the same and buyable.

This is misleading and doesn't make sense to me.

    Regards, Bernd
