TINA/Spice/LMH6526: How to simulate and see response of the above component

Part Number: LMH6526
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

I would like to simulate the above component but i was informed there is no spice model file for it. How else can I simulate this component. I  hope to rad from you soon.

kind regards

Justin

  • Hi Justin,

One alternative that you can do is to ask what key specifications that you intend to simulate. Once you answer this question, then you can consider creating your own simple behavior/spice model that fits your custom situation based on the device's datasheet specification.

Even though I am not an expert this particular device you mention, I can see several key specs such as gain and current limit etc. So if you intend to simulate the gain of your system together with this device, then you can simply use VCVS (Voltage Controlled Voltage Source) so that you can simulate the gain of your system.

If you intend to simulate the current drive, then perhaps you can use VCCS (Voltage Controlled Current Source) etc.

  • Hi Herman,

I want to thank you for your help. I intend to simulate a current drive. Do you mind providing me with a spice model format to generate the model file. Thanks very much and hope to read from you.

    regards

  • Hi Justin,

I am not clear what you are asking for here, but if you are asking for a general spice language format ... like learning spice language as a beginner, you can search the web. For instance this website is a good one to learn about spice language www.ecircuitcenter.com/Basics.htm

Unfortunately, currently we cannot provide you with model for this part. Just FYI, we don't generate models for all TI parts. We only generate models for select few of our parts depending our various factors such as business justification behind it, etc, etc.

  • Hi Herman,

I tried generating the spice model file but i couldnt. I needed a bit more information because the schematic is abit of a black box for me. Do you guys also have evaluation kits for this chip. I would really like to do some simulation before sending my design for manufacturing. Thanks and hope to read from you
  • Hi Justin,

Your inquiry about evaluation kit has become product specific. Please post your inquiry to the product specific forum which is e2e.ti.com/.../ for this particular product.

On there, you can also mention that even though we don't have a model, you can ask what alternative method or way they can help you with.
