WEBENCH® Tools/TPS54560: Coilcraft inductors

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

I'm doing a switcher design based on the TPS54560.

In WBENCH when i look at the parts being offered, i wonder whether the coilcraft parts are correctly specified?

WBENCH is showing a coilcraft inductor (MSS1210-473MEB) with the following parameters -

The Coilcraft datasheet shows the following parameters-

It appears that the value for Isat(A) has been used in place of Irms(A).

Am i reading correctly?

Hi Howard,

The IDC(A) current of Inductor in Webench is nothing but Isat(A).

Hi Kiran,

Okay, so the Idc(A) is the Isat(A) value.

If i look at an alternative part from Wurth - 7447709330 I get the following in WEBENCH

The Wurth datasheet shows

So in this instance the Isat figure isnt used?

Hi Howard,

WEBENCH uses the minimum of Isat and Irms for the inductor current rating. Also, we use the Isat for 30% drop in inductance and Irms for 40degC rise in temperature typically. In case of the MSS1210-473ME, it was a wrong entry in our database. We will get this fixed at the earliest.
