WEBENCH® Tools/LM5022: Vout min value

Part Number: LM5022
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5117, LM5145, LM5116, TPS40170, LM5020, UCC28C40-Q1

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

The table on the website says 1.25V for Vout min, but Webench rejects anything under 6V.

I am interested in 3.3V out. Please let me know if there is another part for 10V-60V in, 3.3V 30w out.

Thank you.

  • Hi Boaz,

The LM5022 is a boost controller and the minimum output voltage is restricted to 6V. For above buck condition, following devices can be used to create a design.

    1.LM5117

    2.LM5088-1

    3.LM5088-2

    4.LM5145

    5.LM5116

    6.TPS40170.

Please use the below link to create a design as per your conditions.

  • Thank you for your reply.

I apologies, I did not mention an important factor - the power supply has to be isolated. Using the wizard I get 43 suggested designs, but none of them is based on an off-the-shelf transformer, some are also missing MOSFETs and diodes. Is there an app note for parallel connections to achieve more power? LM5020 looks like a good candidate.

  • Hi Boaz,

We will get back to you on this query.

  • Hi Boaz,
I was able to pick the UCC28C40-Q1 for a 10V to 60V input and 3.3V @9.1A. Yes, in many cases it might be hard to find an exact off-the-shelf transformer that would meet the design requirements. However, many of our high voltage products have capability to recommend a core and bobbin with the winding details that can help you wind the transformer. Also, some of the MOSFETs and diodes could be custom. It is a limitation where the design could not find these high voltage components in our database.

Here is a link to the design.

  • Hi Gerold,

I am having problem opening the design, I tried Firefox, Chrome and IE. The first page pops up a message saying it might take 30 sec, but then it immediately redirects to page that returns HTTP 500 error.

    The URL is: webench.ti.com/.../my_shared_design_public.cgi

I also tried searching for 6B929822DF5E5663 in webbench, but nothing opens.

Is there any alternative method to open it?

    Thank you,

    Boaz

  • Hi Boaz,

We are able to open the design using above shared link. Please ensure the FLASH is installed and it is workign fine.

    Thanks & Regards,
