TINA/Spice/TINA-TI: Contrast of Grid on Block

Part Number: TINA-TI

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

How do you change the grid color from yellow to another color for better contrast ratio when you insert a block without the Wizard?

Yellow on a white background is a poor contrast for snapping the block lines to the grid.

  • Hi James,

I am not 100% sure about your question:
    1. Do you want to know how to change the TINA main schematic background color?
    2. Do you want to know how to change the symbol color?

    Please clarify,
    Herman
  • James,

The grid line color cannot be changed in the symbol editor.

Nevertheless, to ensure that drawing elements (lines, shapes) are on the default grid, it is better to use the snap to grid switch rather than the grid lines:

Note that pins are always snapped to grid, regardless of this switch. This ensures you will always be able to connect a wire to them.

    JC

  • How do snap the part outline to the grid, tried using the snap to grid switch but the part outline is off grid when transferred to the schematic sheet.
  • James,

Are you referring to the green box surrounding the drawing include all the pins? That is not visible once instantiated in the schematic.

    JC

  • Hi JC,

Do you get the green box when downloading a part from the existing parts listing?

The part I am using does not exist in the Tina parts listing.

Therefore I am generating a schematic part structure using  Insert, then block and then Skip Wizard.

The Symbol Editor then pops up with the yellow line grid for a square or rectangle to be drawn for a part outline.

The work around I use is, to set snapping on and  the 2x size to 8x to actually see the yellow lines for

snapping corners and sides of part outline to the grid.

Then when saved to the schematic the part outline is snapped to the schematic grid.

This is working for now so please show my inquiry as complete and closed.

    Thanks,

    James
