My design will be a single input, three output rather than the four output shown in TIDA-01365.  While I create any problems if I do not populate the fourth slave device circuitry?

    This is no problem. This circuit was designed so that it is straightforward to adapt it to different applications, from a 1:1 repeater to a 1:any number fan-out.

    Be careful in taking the existing circuit exactly as-is and just removing a transceiver, though; you would also need to modify the AND gate that is used to consolidate the data from all the slave nodes to the upstream port. You could either tie the input corresponding to the unused channel high or you could switch over to a three-input AND gate instead.
