TRSF3223EIDBR - RS232 LEVEL & CMOS LEVEL

I'm designing an application that wants to communicate RS232 and CMOS, I selected the TRSF3223EIDBR to use in my circuit.

however I have two pertinent questions that I could not clarify in the component datasheet! I leave my circuit attached, VCC = 3,3V!

Q1: For RS232 levels DOUT1+RIN1, for CMOS LEVEL ROUT1+DIN1, Is this correct?

Q2: PIN ROUT1 will it have CMOS values, or do I need some more converter?

Thanks in advance for the help!

  • Hi Camilo,

Yes, you are correct. In the "transmit" direction the device takes CMOS inputs on DIN and translates them to RS-232 outputs on DOUT. In the "receive" direction the devices takes RS-232 inputs on RIN and translates them to CMOS outputs on ROUT.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Regards,
