TIDA-00779: PFC hardware testing failure issue

the circuit is made as per the schematic diagram is given. and tried to test without any loading. But when pfc is not ON its working as a normal rectifier, and when PFC is on then the MOSFET is getting blasted.

What can be the possible cases?

and I have doubt in the inductor purchased because the size of that is too smaller than inductor in TI design-image. My design image is attached(can see the inductor)

Hi Nidheesh,

The PFC choke you used is wrong, please verified and check it again.

I could not give you more suggestion about this issue before I see something.

I would recommend you can apply one evaluating board TIDA-00779 and test it compared with your board.

Hi Jason,

thank you for your kind information. I mailed in that mail id provided.

about pfc choke: It is showing 790uH in LCR meter and conductor used is having a current capacity of 30A. and I am operating in no load.

For PFC choke design, it is also relevant with the material, not only the inductance and current capability.

Hi,

I checked the control circuit having UCC28180. Here, by the help of external supply, I gave feedback signals such as Vsense 5V and Isence voltage as -0.275 to 0.

PWM having a maximum of 96% duty ratio when V_i_sence is minimum and it is reducing to 82% when V_i_sense=-0.27 V. The duty ratio is not reducing below 82%. Is this as desired or not?

why duty ratio is not going to a minimum value?
