TINA/Spice/AMC1301: Current Sensing

Part Number: AMC1301
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

Hello,

I am trying to build a current sensing circuit and I am pretty much new to TINA. I don't think there should be a problem in the circuit connection.

When I do the analysis, error pops up saying that it is an irregular circuit mentioning the current of component V1.

  • Hi Neeshitha,

It seems that the C22 capacitor(connected with V1) is shorted and that might be the reason of error.

The above error comes when there is a loop which involves two ideal sources together. For instance, two voltage sources connected in parallel between same nodes. These kind of loop causes KVL and KCL to fail at these nodes.

You can attach your tsc file here if it does not resolve your problem.
  • Hello Saket,

    That was helpful.

I am facing another issue now. I was trying to build a voltage sensing circuit. It has the same components as the current sensing one except for the input part. I will be feeding the input through a voltage divider. I designed the voltage divider in such a way it steps down 12V to 230mV and 16V to 230mV. When I simulate the voltage dividers separately without integrating it with the main circuit, it works fine. But with the main circuit, it doesn't produce the same output as 230mV. Here are the  circuits,

  • Hi Neeshitha,

I am closing this thread now as we have similar thread () for above issue. Please share your tsc file on that thread as requested. We will look and get back to you.

    Thank you!
