Hi Somen,

Thank you for the suggestion. I was able to simulate the circuit by grounding the pins through 1Gohm resistor.

However I am not sure if the simulation shows the correct result. I configured the circuit for a boost operation but the nFault signal goes low after the startup, and the boost operation does not happen. I ran a transient analysis for 5ms.

Please advise.

Hi Karthik,

From the forum I was informed that I can use LM5170 as a single channel without having to populate the channel 2 components, so basically leave them floating and connect EN2 to ground. The solution that you provided necessitates me to populate channel 2 even though it will not be used. Unfortunately it is not cost efficient to populate channel 2 when we are not even using it.

Is there a way to make this work without populating channel 2?

Hi Agus,

We have received the response from the team. The short detection is currently not implemented properly. We have added the fix to our queue. It would take some time to work on it and re-release. Please consider this as a limitation in the model. I would suggest you to use the model with the dummy channel created for controller 2. You can still only populate a single channel on your board.
