WEBENCH® Tools/LM25011: Webench design outside of operating specifications

Hi,

I have input the following parameters into Webench and it successfully outputs a design:-

Vin min = 10.5v, Vin max = 40.0v, Vout = 9.0v, Iout = 1.5A

When I input the component parameters from this design into the equations found in the data sheet for the device, the design falls outside of the recommended parameters for Minimum off-time at Vin(min) and the Minimum ripple voltage across Rs.

Also, when I input the same parameters into the Excel file 'LM25011 Buck Regulator Quick Start Component Calculator' found on the Texas website, the design also falls outside of the recommended parameters.

Is Webench a reliable tool?

Hi Colin,
We typically consider the minimum off-time of the IC while recommending the solution. We do other checks such as minimum current limit, IC junction temperature as well before suggesting the design. We will look into this specific device and get back to you.
