TIDA-00961: About current sensor & TMSF280049 control card

Part Number: TIDA-00961

Q1:I see TIDA-00961 use low bandwidth(DC~120kHz) current sensor ACS716KLATR-12CB-NL-T , does it have serious attenuation at high switching frequencies?

If so, how do you overcome this problem?

And different delay times in the variable frequency condition, how to overcome?

Q2: Dose TMSF280049 ADCCLK is up to 50MHz? Because I set the ADCCLK = 100MHz, but didn't see any problem, so I want to confirm that this value is correct from datasheet?.

Hi Chen,

As replied in another thread by you, the design does not use peak current controland hence the bandwidth limitation of the Hall effect sensor does not affect system performance.

As for the ADC clock, it might work at higher frequencies, but it is preferrable not to exceed the datasheet values. ADC performance is not guaranteed beyond specified limits.

The bandwidth limitation causes the phase delay of the average current and as the variable frequency the phase delay will different.

So I want to know how to overcome this problem in digital control ?

Hi Chen,

Yes, you are right. But since the Hall sensor bandwidth is much higher than the current loop bandwidth, the effect is probably not significant.
