TIDA-01512: NVM code for powering up LS2088A processor.

Part Number: TIDA-01512
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS53681

Hi TI team,

We are working on LS2088A processor and we have selected the Multiphase solution from TI in order to power up the processor and the 2 64GB DIMM modules and 5 1GB DDR4 chips. We are following the reference design provided from TI and we want are in need of the NVM code of the evaluation module which you have developed solely for LS2088A. So, can you please share us the NVM code.

We also want to know whether the PWM controller TPS53681's NVM can be programmed with the code that supports the LS2088A requirements in the TI factory itself so that it would be helpful for us in mass production.

  • Hello Sai,

Unfortunately TI does not sell the TPS53681 pre-programmed. You can use the Fusion Manufacturing Tool to quickly program the desired settings to the part during board assembly. Another option is to buy pre-programmed controllers for a fee from Avnet. Contact Andy Sotirin [sotirin at ti dot com] regarding this matter.

I'll work on getting you the project file for your EVM in a day or so.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Cheers,

    Carmen

  • Hi Carmen,

Thank you very much for your response.

We have a query regarding the core voltage of the LS2088A, as per LS2088A datasheet the default value of the processor core voltage is 1.05V but the reference has been developed for 1V which requires changing of the fuser register is LS2088A. So can you please share us the code by changing the core voltage VID setting as 1.05V.

Hope this 0.05V will not effect any of the other design parameters and discrete component values. Please confirm on this.
  • Hey Sai,

Please see the attached files for TIDA-01512. The XML file is for uploading and use in the Fusion GUI while the text file is for easier manipulation on your end if you need to put it into another system.

The 1.05V boot voltage for the core rail has been implemented as well. The small different in VOUT won't affect performance much at all and the rest of the design will still be fine.

Let me know if you need anything else.

    Cheers,

    Carmen
