TIDA-00254: Changing resolution of OpenCv camera

Hello,

Since I dont have Point Grey Fly camera required for this application. I decided to use my industrial camera as OpenCV camera. But the resolution is fixed at 640x480 ,which is an issue.

Is there any possibility to increase this resolution or a workaround that has been implemented by any other users previously for this issue?

Hello Nikhil,

What is the resolution of your OpenCV camera. I believe you will need to use the OpenCV to configure your camera resolution outside of the SDK itself.

Hi Kyle,
the resolution of my camera is 2048x 1536, but I will intend to use it in 1920x1080.
How should I proceed in the case of the method that you suggested ?

Hello Hikhil,

I think you will need to recompile the code after making modifications to the OpenCV camera setup code. I would recommend looking under src/camer/opencv_cam/opencvcam.cpp file.

Hi Kyle,

I found a few instances where the parameters are defined, so should I just hardcode the required dimensions ?

Additionally is there any documentation or steps to recompile the files into exe?

Hello Nikhil,

That sounds like that could be a correct approach. Alternatively you could figure out where that constant is defined and set it to the appropriate value. Unfortunately this is something that will be left up to the user to configure the proper camera.

Hi,

I tried compiling it using the instructions provided in the pdf but , I also encountered the error as shown in the manual. But was unable to solve the error by changing the directory of OpenCV.
